How to Find Your Windows 11 PC Hardware and System Specs – Guide
There will be times when you will need to know what kind of hardware is installed on your PC. You might want to install new hardware. Or solve a problem. If you’re running Windows 11, there are a few ways to do this. Through the operating system itself or using third-party utilities.
Find Windows 11 System Specifications
To get the basic system information about your system, you can use what is already built into Windows 11. To get started, go to Start>Settings>System>About. Here you will find basic device specs such as CPU, installed RAM, system type and Windows 11 version.
Use system information application
But sometimes you might need more detailed information. To do this, press the Windows key and type: msinfo, and open the System Information application. There you can find loads of information about Windows version, system model, processor type, BIOS version, RAM, virtual memory and much more.
use the command line
If you love using the command line or want a geek way of looking at specs, you can use Command Prompt or PowerShell. Launch a command prompt or PowerShell instance as Admin. Then, at the prompt, type: systeminfo and press Enter. Your system will be analyzed and will provide a list of system information such as BIOS, Windows version, RAM, computer model, and more.
Use Task Manager
Another option you have is to open the Task Manager in Windows 11. The Task Manager will show information about CPU, RAM, disk performance and more.
Use a third-party app
You can also use a third-party app to get system information. And in some cases, like with Speccy, you might find it a friendlier solution. Speccy will analyze your system and give you an easy-to-use GUI that provides data such as your CPU type and speed, Windows version, BIOS version, graphics card information, motherboard information and much more.
