How to Enable Extension in Incognito Mode of Google Chrome – Guide
If you want to use Chrome extensions while working in Incognito mode, learn how here. And, more importantly, why you shouldn’t trust Incognito (and its extensions) to be 100% private. Anyone who requires an above average level of privacy in their daily activities knows that their browser offers a private mode. In Google Chrome, this feature it’s called Incognito, and it’s been around for some time. If you’re not familiar with Incognito, the gist of what it offers is pretty straightforward. In incognito mode, your browser (theoretically) does not save your browsing history, passwords or usernames. Every time you open Chrome in incognito mode, it’s like opening the browser for the first time (more on that soon). You’re probably already familiar with Chrome extensions, little “apps” you can add to Chrome to extend its functionality. By default, extensions you’ve added to Chrome will not run in incognito mode. Fortunately, it’s very easy to enable these extensions for privacy-friendly mode. If you use incognito mode in Chrome and think you’re perfectly protected from prying eyes, think again. Even if you use Chrome in privacy mode, your ISP can see your traffic. So the idea that you are completely anonymous just by clicking on a button in your Chrome browser is a misnomer. If you’re looking for that level of privacy, I recommend the Tor browser (a browser that works with a proxy server so your traffic is anonymous to your ISP). Even with Tor, not everything is perfect, but it’s a significant improvement over incognito mode and expecting it to be 100% incognito.
