Over time, a team created in Microsoft Teams may no longer be needed, or you can archive or delete a team in final of a project. If you are a Microsoft Teams administrator, follow the steps in this article to archive or delete a team that is no longer needed. When you archive a team, all activities for that team are stopped. When you archive a team, the team’s private channels and associated site collections are also archived. However, you can still add or remove members and update roles, and you can still see all team activity across standard and private channels, files, and chats. When you delete a team, team activity on standard and private channels (and associated site collections), files, and chats are also deleted.
