For example, if you have dark mode enabled on your phone, then the apps using the system’s default theme will go dark. You can override this setting by choosing a different theme in the app settings, if available. Note: In the following methods, choose the system default only if your default system theme is light. Turn off dark mode in Google Assistant
Dark mode for Google Assistant depends on the theme settings that are saved for the Google app. It does not have a dedicated switch for itself. So please check the section on how to disable dark theme in Google app.
Turn off dark mode in Google Calculator
To do this, open the app and tap the three-dot icon at the top. Select the Choose theme option from the menu. Select light or system standard from the menu.
Turn off dark mode in Google Calendar
Here are the steps: Step 1: Open the Google Calendar app on your phone Step 2: Tap the three-bar icon in the top left corner and select Settings.

Step 1: In the Google Duo app, tap the three-dot icon at the top. Select settings.
Step 2: Tap Choose theme and select light.

To do this, start the app and tap the three-bar icon at the top. Select settings.

Turn off dark mode in Google Fit
Step 1: Launch the Google Fit app and tap the Profile tab at the bottom.
Step 2: Tap the settings icon at the top of the Profile tab. Then tap on Theme and choose Light.

Step 1: In the Gallery Go app, a lighter version of the Google Photos app, tap the three-dot icon at the top. Select settings.

Step 2: Tap General settings followed by Theme. Choose Light or System Standard.
Tip On the iPhone, open the Gmail app and tap the three-bar icon. Select settings. Then tap on Theme and choose Light.
Turn off dark mode in the Google app
Note: Turning off dark mode in the Google app will also turn it off for Google Assistant and the Discover feed. Step 1: Open the Google app on your phone and tap More at the bottom.
Step 2: Tap Settings followed by General.
Step 3: Tap Theme and choose Light or System default.
Turn off dark mode in Google Keep
Step 1: In the Google Keep app, tap the three-bar icon in the top left corner. Select settings.
Step 2: Turn off the toggle for Enable dark theme.
Turn off dark mode in Google Maps
Step 1: Open Google Maps and tap the three-bar icon at the top. Select Settings from the menu.
Step 2: Tap Navigation settings. Select Day under Color scheme.
Turn off dark mode in Google Play Store and Photos

Step 2: Tap Display options. Turn off the toggle next to Dark theme.

Step 1: Open the YouTube app and tap your profile picture at the top.
Step 2: Select Settings followed by General.
Step 3: Tap Appearance. Select Light.

Turn off Dark Theme Phone Settings
As mentioned earlier, some apps change the theme according to the system theme. So make sure you phone’s theme is brought to light. You can change it from Settings> Display settings> Dark theme.
Turn off Battery saver
When you activate battery saver on Android phones, some supported apps run in dark mode to save battery. So turn it off on you phone
Turn off the high contrast mode
If you have the high contrast or color inversion mode on your phone, apps run in dark mode. So turn it off. This accessibility setting is usually available under Settings> Accessibility.
Turn off night mode in the developer options
If developer options are enabled on your phone, you should look for the values set for Night mode or theme setting. If it is on or set to dark, some apps will turn on dark mode. So turn it off under Settings> Developer options.
Turn on the light
Fortunately, we do not yet live in a world where Google would force dark mode on us. A lot of people like the mode so it’s good that we get the options to choose between them.
