The Corsair K55 is only so-so for gaming, as the rubber dome switches require a fair amount of force to operate, making the keys unresponsive. On the other hand, it features very low latency, zone-lit RGB lighting, six dedicated macro keys, and all keys are programmable. The Corsair K55 is a membrane keyboard, meaning it uses rubber domes under the keycaps as opposed to mechanical switches. As a result, the keys can be pressed almost silently. The keys are not spongy, as there is a pleasant resistance when typing or gaming. Under the keycaps, instead of expensive per-key lighting, there are three RGB lighting zones; the colors of the K55 have an excellent diffused glow and fill the space with light thanks to the rubberized dome and floating keycaps. The Corsair K55 also includes a removable rubberized wrist rest. It works well enough and provides a basic level of support while the textured face offers some nice grip. Like most keyboards in this price range, Corsair did not include USB passthrough on the K55, which is not surprising, but still a bit disappointing. The Corsair K55 RGB Gaming Keyboard has premium build quality. It is a membrane keyboard, but you will get some of the feel of a mechanical keyboard as you use it. The keyboard has six dedicated macro keys that can be programmed on the fly to help with gaming.
