The only advantage the Amazfit GTR has over the Amazfit GTS is the flashier design and slightly longer battery life. In return, the GTS outperforms the GTR with a water resistance of 5ATM compared to 3ATM for the latter. The other features, such as heart rate monitoring, music playback, notifications, and others, are shared between the GTS and the GTR. That being said, Amazfit’s smartwatches, including the GTS, are not comparable to high-end devices like the Apple Watch or Samsung’s Galaxy Watches, as you can’t download third-party apps on them. For the same reason, the GTS cannot compete with the cheap Wear OS-equipped TicWatch E2. In terms of design, the Amazfit GTS is reminiscent of the Apple Watch. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Huami has not at all subtly mimicked the design of the Apple wearable. There’s obviously no originality here. From the square display to the neon black user interface, Huami has successfully copied Apple’s well-designed device. Apple is known for setting trends in hardware design, be it smartphones, laptops or smartwatches. It doesn’t look like companies will stop copying Apple’s design philosophy anytime soon. There is even an Apple-like crown on one side of the Amazfit GTS. It’s arranged a bit differently than on the Apple Watch, and it doesn’t rotate. The crown on the GTS can be used to return to the home screen or wake up the watch when the display is off. The most attractive feature of the Amazfit GTS is its lightweight design and beautiful display. There is an option to enable the always-on display or leave it off. However, it automatically turns off when you activate one of the 12 activity modes.
