The earbuds themselves have a short stem and a glossy exterior finish. The inside is oval, and after a little twisting, these earbuds are snug and comfortable in your ears. The stems aim neatly at your cheeks without brushing against them. They should be able to withstand rain and sweat thanks to the IPX6 waterproof rating. The Tozo NC2’s battery life is average for the price. It provides up to 8 hours of playtime with ANC turned off and around 5 hours with the feature turned on. These are above-average ratings for low-cost noise-cancelling earbuds, and there’s more than enough juice for daily use. The case can recharge them three times before requiring new power. The Tozo allows you to listen to one or two earbuds at a time and switch between them at any time. When you only use the left earbud, the ANC switch deactivates and becomes the play/pause button – clever. Basic connectivity is also satisfactory, with fast pairing and a strong connection up to 9-10 metres from your device. When you hold one of the buds in your hands, music automatically pauses and resumes when you put it back in your ears. The Tozo NC2’s ANC active noise cancellation is adequate. You can toggle between Transparency/ Ambient mode and ANC functionality by tapping the left earbud. However, ANC is disabled by default, and once activated, it cannot be turned off until the earbuds are placed in the case. This is the Tozo NC2’s most serious flaw. A short, unobtrusive beep confirms switching between functions.
